Winslow Bulldogs fall to Snowflake, beat Holbrook
Winslow now 12-5 for season after up and down weekend

The Winslow Bulldogs started the 2013 portion of their season with a loss to Snowflake Jan. 4 and an easy win over Holbrook Jan. 5.

The Snowflake Lobos defeated the Winslow Bulldogs 65-54 in the first game of the New Year. The win improved Snowflake's record to 12-5 and dropped Winslow's to 11-5 for the season.

The Lobos led 11-9 after the first quarter and 25-18 at the half. The Lobos' lead was a comfortable 45-31 after three quarters of play.

Michael Goldtooth led all scorers with 25 points for Winslow. Lukas Shirley also scored in double figures for the Bulldogs with 10 points. Snowflake had three players in double figures led by Reggie Peterson with 15 points. Nick Shumway scored 12 points and Chase Walden knocked in 10 points for the Lobos.

On Saturday, the Winslow Bulldogs defeated the Holbrook Roadrunners 62-32 at Winslow. The win improved Winslow's record to 12-5.

The Bulldogs led 14-11 after the first quarter and had a double-digit 24-13 lead at the half. The margin was a comfortable 52-22 after three quarters of play.

Michael Goldtooth led all scorers with 14 points for the Bulldogs. Stevin Nelson also scored in double figures for Winslow with 10 points and Timothy Little added nine for the victors. Arden Hatch led Holbrook with 10 points.
