Winslow Rotary Club member Dave Hartman makes a second unsuccessful attempt to lift a destroyed New York Trade Center column from its base. It's to be moved to its new home, one-quarter mile west on Third Street in west Winslow. Russ Hamilton operated the lift for this effort. This is the second attempt to raise beam for moving and it seems to be stuck or binding at the base. This second attempt was made on June 13. The next attempt will be done with the aid of McCauley Construction's crane, capable of lifting 18 tons. This is a major project of the Rotary Club of Winslow, which will create large and dignified venue for the 9-11 wreckage to be displayed and honored.
